About - Staff - Support Staff

Wendy is the owner of one of the lovely voices you hear on the phone when you call Riverside. Wendy joined the camp staff full-time in June of 1998. She was on summer staff in 1984-87 on our kitchen staff. Wendy spends her days in the office working on bulk mailings, maintaining our data base, and Riverside Partners.

Wendy and her husband, Dan, live in Radcliffe, IA with their daughters Maggie, born in January 1996, and Kaydee, born in October of 2001.

Kim Sporleder is our wonderful office assistant. Kim and her husband Matt live in Story City where he works on the Story City police department. In her spare time Kim likes to spend time with her kids, baking, or just be creative doing scrapbooking and decorating. Kim and Matt have two children, Caden (born March 2003) and Adalyn (born April 2007).

It could be Kim's lovely voice you hear when you call Riverside's office. Kim is a joyful person who will always have a smile and a listening ear. Kim loves Jesus and knows Him as her personal Lord and Savior. Kim is giving her life to God by serving in full-time ministry at Riverside!

John Foster joined the Riverside staff in January of 2002 as Director of Development. John spent many years in the insurance business in his home state of Texas and answered the Lord’s call to change professions and begin working in outdoor ministry.

As John continues to grow in the ministry of Riverside, he brings to the table an attitude of "It's About Jesus!" This is also the focus of the financial development done at Riverside. John is a super-friendly guy who has a passion and gift for raising the funds needed to continue proclaiming the Name of our King to all people of all generations.
John and his wife Barbara have three children, David (22), Jeannie (19) and Austin (12).

Dan Kretzmann came on board as Property Manager in July of 1996. Dan began on Summer Staff at Riverside in 1987 as a Junior Counselor.

Dan has now moved beyond his Junior Counseling days and is in charge of maintaining the camp property so it is typical to find him mowing, moving snow, fixing doors, working with volunteer groups, cutting down broken branches, filling the sandbox, checking furnaces, lighting water heaters and remodeling the camp's buildings. The biggest joy in Dan’s life, without a doubt, is cleaning, preparing and filling our swimming pool each spring. Knowing that our pool was built in the early 1950’s should help you picture the excitement in Kretz’s eyes every March as he works his way over to “wake the pool from it’s long winter slumber”.

Darla Millang is the Director of Little Flock Daycare. Darla has been an amazing addition to the Riverside staff since her arrival in 1994. She began working at Little Flock in1994 and has tried out many things before landing as the Director in August 2002. Darla has worked extensively with kids of all ages and has cooked for Little Flock. Not only that, but Darla has even been one of Riverside's Wranglers! That's right - she loves her horses! Darla is working wonders at keeping Jesus Christ the focus of Little Flock Daycare.

Darla lives in Story CIty, Iowa with her super-cool son Jake, who is now 13 years old.
