We are very excited to have Dani Tietjen return to be our speaker! Many women were so blessed with her passion for Jesus AND His people last fall. Dani is from Minneapolis, is a wife & a mother of two young boys & a baby girl. She understands that knowing the Lord is a journey through life.
Our theme this year is “WAITING”
Psalm 27:13-14 – I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.” We can often look toward the end of the road (when God gives me _______ I will be better/happier/fulfilled/satisfied), then we miss out on the process that God is taking us on to get there.
We are all in the process of waiting for the Lord to come again, and how do we spend our time in that waiting? We are wanting/waiting for something, some prayer request that we want answered. How do we have a relationship with God in the waiting? What about when He isn’t providing what we think we should have or when the answer doesn't come? Sometimes life is really hard and we want desperately for the waiting to be done. How do we live in faith & trust God in waiting? What can we learn when we wait?
While I'm waiting, I will worship.

In Place of Workshops
This year in place of workshops throughout the weekend we will be having stations and doing various things. One station is an Outreach/Service Station and we will be packing things for our speaker, Dani Tietjen, to take to Haiti on her next Mission trip to that devastated country.
Over 80% of the schools in Port Au Prince were destroyed and so many of the stores. Teachers and principals say there is no where to even purchase more school supplies. We will assemble individual backpacks for kids filled with their own school supplies. We can make a girl backpack, with girl folders, pencils, erasers, etc, a boy backpack filled the same way, or a neutral one.
You could start collecting the items listed below. Feel free to ask your church and friends if they'd like to donate items for you to bring to the Women's Retreat!

About the Women's Retreat
September is a great month to come to Riverside and enjoy God’s beautiful autumn! This is a retreat you will not want to miss! Women gather for encouragement and the teaching of God’s Word. There is worship, fun, food and fellowship! And NO cooking or cleaning! It is a weekend to rest and relax, to be served and be filled! Take a break from your routine, from your busy schedules, from the phone, TV, etc., etc.!
This retreat is a great getaway for any gal-any age! Come by yourself or bring a friend, a daughter, a mother, a sister! We will learn from God's Word, have great fellowship, laugh, pray and play together! There will be workshops that apply to your everyday life, horseback rides, pedicures, chocolate, and coffee! Lots of time to relax, worship and enjoy time in God's beautiful creation at Riverside!
Do you have a desire to exchange the clutter & chaos of your everyday life for a simpler Focus on what’s important? God’s Word tells us the essentials that He values most in women—essentials which make life simpler, bring true fulfillment, and will put us on a path to godly living.
We have many mom, daughter, sister, in-law, and friend groups meet each year to kindle their relationships. Others come for the first time each year. All are invited and welcomed! This is a weekend you won’t want to miss! See you in September!
2009 Women's Retreat:
“Becoming an Authentic Woman of God”
“This retreat was an amazing opportunity to ‘get away’ from the busy-ness of every day responsibilities and to enjoy God’s beautiful creation with my sisters in Christ. It was absolutely fabulous – thank you!” There were many more comments such as this from the 82 women who attended.
We had a great speaker, Dani Tietjen from Minneapolis. We enjoyed digging into God’s Word, worship, nine different workshops from which to choose. A time of solitude, small group discussions, a prayer labyrinth, gorgeous weather, trail rides, crafts, a hayride, campfire, s’mores, and prayer time all added up to a very God-blessed weekend. It is a great time to catch up with old friends & relatives, and also make some new friends.
