Summer Employment
Make a Difference!
Preparations are being made to hire the summer staff for the upcoming summer’s ministry. Our goal is to have a Christ-centered staff that is committed to the Lord’s service. If you are interested in applying to be a part of this ministry team, we are interested in your application. Our theme for the Summer is, ALIVE. Our theme verse is 1 Thessalonians 5:10, “He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him.” We are excited to share about how Jesus is alive and active in our lives today—meaning our God is active and working in our lives today for our good and His glory! Cool stuff.
As a staff member, you would arrive for staff training on May 26th. You would be earning a weekly salary of $185/ week plus room and board. Staff hired for Riverside serve 11 weeks ending on August 10th.
We also want to inform you of an excellent opportunity for you. We offer Free Lifeguard Training the week before staff training. We are always in need of lifeguards and would encourage anyone interested in being certified to do so. The dates for our training are May 21-25, 2012. If this date does not work for you but you can be certified on your own, please do it! We always need lifeguards!
Please keep in mind that we are not able to hire all applicants, so please be in prayer with us about where God will lead you this summer. We will be trusting in His guidance as well.
Be sure to indicate any special skills or interest you have that are helpful for us as we consider your application. Thank you for your interest!
Summer 2012 Application Forms
Please fill out the application forms accurately and honestly and return it to us when it is complete. Give the Reference forms to three individuals that would be able to give a complete evaluation of who you are. (Some good references would be a Pastor, Youth Director, past employer, an adult friend of the family, etc.) Have your references send in the forms as soon as possible. Application, references and a current picture of yourself must be in before your application is complete. Please e-mail your photo to Chris@RiversideLBC.org. This is very important - the photo will be needed for immediate pre-summer publicity.

Senior Counselor
Spend your summer living out your faith with young people week after week. Counselors are directly responsible for a cabin (8-10 young people) and are the engine that makes camp run. Not only are you building relationships with youth in order to point them to Jesus Christ, but counselors lead music, drama and skits, games, and many other fun activities. While on-site a counselor will have the opportunity to spend one week as a maintenance or kitchen worker. This is a good experience working with a crew of people your own age on tangible tasks. Counselors also have the opportunity to be sent as teams throughout the summer to lead Vacation Bible School (Day Camp) at area churches. You can expect to spend 3-4 weeks of your summer on Day Camp. While there, you will work with children in 1-6 grades singing songs, learning bible lessons and playing games. Riverside recognizes the need for spiritual growth and depth in order to continually give of yourself in this position. Therefore, we have created a discipleship team whose purpose is to help you grow through bible study, one-on-one discipleship and encouragement.
Junior Counselor
Students that have completed their junior year of high school are eligible to apply to be JCs. A Junior Counselor’s job is to build relationships with campers and be a role model for them while partnering with the Senior Counselor in their cabin. JCs also participate in weekly bible study and discipleship.
Wrangler
Lead a trail ride, teach a child how to properly saddle a horse, or join a group in crossing a river on horseback for the first time ever. Wranglers work at the ranch all summer long keeping our horse program in tip-top shape. It is true that life down at the ranch involves a lot of hard work and hot days. Although, if you love horses and want to give kids a chance to learn about them and hear the Gospel message, then this would be a great fit for you!
Pool Manager
One of the most popular summer destinations at camp is the pool. The manager is in charge of keeping the pool safe, clean and a fun place to be. It is necessary to be a lifeguard and you must like to spend your days in the sun. In the evenings our pool manager has some time off and also joins in with whatever fun is happening around camp.
Kitchen Staff
Many kids come back to camp year after year saying that they love the food. You would be a part of the team that prepares food for all of our guests. If you enjoy service and working in a fun, team atmosphere look no further.
Maintenance Staff
Help our guests have a positive experience. Keep the grounds and facilities in great shape so that campers and staff spend more time focusing on faith than having their needs met. If you are handy or even just a hard worker, this may be the position for you.
