Riverside Lutheran Bible Camp is looking forward to another exciting Heavenly Night Gala on February 25th. You are invited to celebrate the night with us! A fun part of the Gala each year is the live auction. This year’s auction presents a special opportunity. A very generous donor has given $5000 to challenge auction bidders to raise at least $10,000 more. The auction has raised more than this in the past and should do so again. This donor has been actively involved in the past galas and challenges the guests to bid boldly. Their support is another reason for you to come and help make this the best Heavenly Night Gala yet. Heavenly Night Gala IV on February 26.
An exciting and elegant evening featuring great food, music and fellowship was enjoyed by 165 guests. The Gala also included very successful silent and live auctions featuring trips, sports and theatre tickets, hand made items, furniture, sports memorabilia and more. The 2011 Gala raised $35,300!
Riverside is blessed by and thanks the many generous supporters that attend and donate to the Gala. Riverside is especially thankful to the Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Chapters that provided supplemental funding. Black Hawk, Dallas Madison, Northeast Polk, Story and Southwest Polk County Chapters generously supported this event. Parking assistance was provided by the Lutheran Campus Ministry at Iowa State and dinner serving assistance was provided by the Roland-Story High School Key Club.
Riverside hosted Heavenly Night Galas in 2006 and 2007.
These were planned and carried out by caring and visionary volunteers who worked many long hard hours to bring these special events to fruition. Both events were sponsored by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. God richly blessed the 2007 Heavenly Night Gala with more than 200 guests and very nice weather given the time of year. Guests enjoyed great food, music, dancing fellowship and an entertaining auction.
Both Galas proved to be fruitful fund raisers with donations and the auction raising over $38,000 in 2007 and $73,000 for both galas. Thanks to Riverside’s Thrivent Financial for Lutherans grant, 100% of the money raised was applied to the Come to the Table appeal. Many attendees were introduced to Riverside’s new dining hall for the first time and saw how this building is a tool for growing faith and bringing God’s love to campers of all ages.
