Family Camp

Summer 2015

Van Hove Family

The Van Hove Family

Join us for an awesome week of Family Camp, June 30 - July 3! Last year we were nearly full, so register early! Each morning families will gather in the chapel for singing, skits, and sharing of God’s Word. Following chapel time, all the children will be divided according to age groups and will spend the morning with our amazing counselors and experience a time of learning more about Jesus and experience some really fun activities! While the kids are hanging out with our staff, the adults will be hearing from our wonderful guest speakers, Jason and Julie Van Hove.

Jason and Julie (and their 3 children, Zoe, Elijah, and Caia) live in Story City, IA. They currently serve at Harvest Vineyard Church in Ames. Julie has a background in youth and women’s ministries and is on the children’s ministry team at their church. Jason’s opinion of her passions include (but are not limited to) being a mom, women finding freedom in Christ, healthy families and ‘bringing the fun’. Jason’s background includes youth, family, and camping ministries and is a pastor at HVC. Julie’s view of his passions include (but are not limited to) serving and loving his family well, equipping people to minister to others, prayer, and eating good food. Jason and Julie served at Riverside for 9 years and met in junior high at family camp, so they know firsthand how life-changing this week can be!

Many activities will be offered during Free Time each afternoon. Families will enjoy swimming, horseback riding, Rec Hall fun—carpetball, foosball, Camp Store, Art Fun, and Family Bonding time! If the water level is appropriate, families may canoe the river from Riverside to Story City. Evenings will be filled with many great family activities, including campfires and the Mime. Families will also experience Riverside’s FAMOUS July 4th parade (which will actually take place on the 2nd) and a barbeque. We hope to see you there!
