The Spring Men’s Retreat at Riverside has become a great annual retreat! You can expect great teaching, fellowship, worship, prayer, fun times, small groups, and a steak fry! The retreat is open to all men age 18 and over, or 14 and over if accompanied by a father, guardian, or grandfather. The weekend begins on Friday at 7pm and will conclude Saturday around 8pm.
This year’s guest speaker is Enrique Ochoa! Enrique Ochoa ("Q.") is the Leadership Development Director at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls, Iowa, where he has served since 1987. He was a High School Youth Director his first 19 years there. He is currently very excited about his co-operative work in developing fresh Discipleship, Grief Support and Family Equipping Ministries to serve Nazareth and the Cedar Valley. He is married to Martha - since '92 - and they have 4 children: Joshua (20), Becky (18), Joel (15) and Lydia (13). Q loves Chicago Cubs baseball, indoor plants, black coffee and he plays lead guitar in a "middle aged cover band". About 6 years ago he decided to get off the couch and run full marathons. Legs and Lord willing, he will run - along with a supportive group of fellow slow and steady men - his 8th "Big Mary" next Fall. Not a day goes by that he isn't thankful for the life of his Dad, who passed away in March of '12.
We look forward to seeing how the Lord will use Q to speak truth into the lives of men during our weekend at Riverside. This event is $75 per person who stays overnight at camp and $65 for a commuter.
