What is Day Camp?

Day Camp is the Vacation Bible School ministry of Riverside Lutheran Bible Camp. Children going into 1st through 6th grade will be given an opportunity to grow in Christ through:

  • Age-appropriate Bible studies

  • Great counselors

  • Exciting worship with fun skits

  • Creative rotations

  • Preschool curriculum available for your teaching.

Prayerfully consider having Riverside Partner with you and your ministry to the youth of your community during Day Camp!

"“We don’t have many kids in our combined churches, but the most awesome thing is that the whole COMMUNITY benefits from this event! We have at least 30 children who are not linked with any church who come for Day Camp. This may be the only time they experience the church atmosphere and hear about the love of Jesus. We host between 40 to 50 children each year with the majority being nonmembers of our churches. It is a fantastic event for the whole community!” -Faith, Day Camp Coordinator, Hanlontown

What is a Day Camp Coordinator?

Being a Day Camp Coordinator is a vital responsibility to a great Day Camp experience. Responsibilities include praying, being in contact with Riverside, advertising at your church, finding volunteers, and more.

Additional Information

Day Camp generally runs Monday through Thursday 9am to 2pm. However, Day Camp times may be adjusted to best meet the needs of your congregation. On Thursday night we will have a closing celebration.

Deposits go toward the total balance of Day Camp. After January 15 deposits for Day Camp are non-refundable.

Congregations are responsible for paying mileage for round trip miles from Riverside and for mileage accumulated in transporting staff to and from housing to church. Mileage is the federal rate per mile.

Ratio of staff to day camp is approximately 1:15; the minimum number of staff per team is 3. Our Day Camp staff consists of individuals who have committed to serving God by being summer camp counselors at Riverside Lutheran Bible Camp. They have a deep desire to build relationships and share Jesus while having a lot of fun!
