We had such a terrific time in early August with our first-ever
Family Fun Weekend, that we decided maybe this needs to be a
regular offering for families. So, how about you consider bringing
your family this fall? We are excited to open registration for a fall
Family Fun Weekend and we'd be thrilled to welcome your family
to Riverside!
Our team will be assembling an array of scheduled activities for
your family to participate in - or not! That is the great part - that
you can choose as a family how you'd like to spend your time! We
will send you a survey once you get registered and your responses
will allow us to coordinate and schedule your family's itinerary for your time in such a way that we are able to keep group sizes low and ease the ability to remain socially distant from other families in attendance. Activities will include (but are not limited to): canoeing, kayaking, horseback riding, disc golf, arts and crafts, campfire, outdoor worship, and more!

Meals
We will be preparing three meals on Saturday and breakfast and lunch on Sunday for you to enjoy! There will be no Friday evening meal provided, but we can suggest some local places to eat if you would like to dine in or near Story City.
Adult (ages 13+) - $45
Youth (ages 5-12) - $30
Child (under 5) - Free
Lodging
Hope Village (Private bathroom, maximum of 12 people) - $200
Shepherd/Almighty (newly remodeled family cabins in Hope Village with kitchenette and addition of queen-sized bed) - $250
North Heights Duplex (Bathroom downstairs, maximum of 12 people) - $200 per family
RV Camper (with electric) - $75
**Our Retreat Center and Hansen Lodge are ideal if you wanted to make a family reunion out of the weekend! If you have several households that wish to stay together, call us to make arrangements and get rates for these larger lodging options!

Programming/Activities
Activities included in your stay, but are not limited to: horseback riding, canoeing and kayaking, hiking trails on camp, disc golf, volleyball/Nuke 'em, basketball, pickleball, playground, carpetball, fishing (bring your poles!), gaga-ball, wagon rides, etc.
We will share some fun ministry time together as well. Be prepared for funny skits, terrific worship, and optional family bible studies and devotions - God LOVES our families and we pray our weekend at camp with your family will be a blessing for each of you while you are here, as well as when you return home.

How to Register Online

Go to the REGISTRATION tab on our website. Click on "Click here to register on-line".

Sign in using your user ID and password. If you do not recall your user ID and password, please do not set up a new profile. Call our office at 515-733-5271 and we can give you your user ID and password.

Choose an adult in your party as the "camper" to register (left-hand column).

In the right-hand column, click on "Add Program".

Choose "Family Fun Weekend" by checking the box to the left of the session title.

Checking that box will take you to the screen where you will enter your family members.

In the yellow box, enter the number of family participants in each age category included in your party.

You may "Pick from contacts" using the drop-down menu, or you may unclick that box and enter your participants who may not have a profile in the registration system.

If there is an age category that is non-applicable, then place a "0" in that yellow box.

Click on "Save/Next" at the bottom of the screen.

In the PROGRAM FEE section, click on "Make Selections". In this section, you will need to fill in the number of households who are in attendance with you. Example: If it is just you, your husband, and kids, that number would be "1". If you are attending with additional family (ex. grandparent/s, in-laws and their family, a family from your small group, etc.), you need to add one program fee for EACH household.

In the LODGING section, click on "Make Selections". This will take you to all of the lodging options. You may choose your preference, but the specific cabin will be assigned to your family by camp staff. Please note, limited families will be allowed in the Retreat Center in order to allow for maximum safety/social distancing opportunities.

Click on "Save/Next" at the bottom of the screen.

In the MEALS section, click on "Make Selections". Enter the number of participants in each age category that will be eating during the weekend. There should be a meal fee paid for each participant in your family.

Click on "Save/Next" at the bottom of the screen. This will take you to a page that will allow you to review your registration information.

If your registration information is correct, click on "Save/Next" at the bottom of the screen. Continue to hit that button until it advances you to the screen with the Liability Waiver.

Click on the blue words to open the Liability Waiver. Read it thoroughly and type your name in the yellow box across the bottom of the form.

Click on "Save/Next" to advance screens, and eventually, you will be able to choose "View Dashboard".

Once you return to the dashboard, you can go to "Make Payment in the left column under the Finance section. A minimum $125 deposit will be required to ensure your registration is completed and your family's spot is reserved for the weekend.
