Summer 2021 Update
God moved in powerful ways this summer through the ministry of Riverside. The picture above shows our incredible and devoted summer staff team that the Lord led here to grow and serve. We're so grateful for each of them and the ways the Lord worked in them and through them to demonstrate and share the Good News of Jesus Christ!
There are so many stories of how God changed and transformed lives through the power of His Spirit through His camp this summer. Stories from onsite programming. Stories from our Ranch Program. Stories from our on-site and off-site Adventure Program. Stories from our Day Camp Program. Yes, camp did look a little different this summer with the pandemic, but so much as the same; fixing our eyes on Jesus, allowing His Word, grace, truth, and love to dictate our conversations and programming.
Overall, we were looking at seeing just a few hundred less campers here this summer than in 2019. Unfortunately, we did cancel our Senior High Camp this summer due to positive cases of COVID among our staff. We adapted our Day Camp program this year and were so thankful to our churches for their flexibility in switching from a 4-day Day Camp to a 2-day Day Camp experience. We praise God for an incredible summer of ministry where we had a front row seat in seeing the power of God move in the lives of His kids!
5K and Quilt Day Recap
What an incredible day we had for the 5k and Quilt Day in early August! While we made some last minute adaptations for the day in light of COVID concerns, it turned out to be one of our largest Quilt Auctions in recent memory. 200 quilts were beautifully made and generously donated for the auction and the auction alone brought in over $43,000! The whole day, with offerings and the 5K, brought in over $45,000 for the continued Christ-centered ministry of Riverside! We are blown away by your support! Thank you to all the quilters, our 5k sponsors, our participants and bidders, and all those who joined us in prayer for the day!
A Night at Riverside
This event was a great success! Initially, the plan was to have a wonderful night under the tent that we would have been worshiping in all summer. While we had to tear down both tents due to weather and design flaws, the event moved into the Dining Hall and we had plenty of space for our 80 guests to spread out in the large hall to celebrate the ministry of Riverside! Thanks to all who came and gave towards this event and to our staff for the outstanding food! Together we raised over $9,000 for the continued ministry of Riverside!
Victory Cabin Update
Victory Cabin has been used for many purposes over the years, most recently as our Adventure Outpost for our summer Adventure Program (which it will continue to be). We're excited to share with you that Victory has recently been updated by volunteers to now also serve as a year around solitude cabin for ministry leaders! We're excited to see how the Lord will use this physical space to touch the lives of His people in powerful, refreshing ways for years to come.
