Riverside Yoco Retreat
Saturday, December 18-19
We are pumped to welcome young adults and college-aged students to our second annual YoCo Retreat at Riverside! We are inviting any college students, current seniors in High School, or young adults to come worship, hear from a couple of speakers, eat great food, and hear from God on Saturday, December 18 at lunchtime through breakfast on Sunday.
Who is this for?
This is perfect for college students who need a day to connect with God, past summer staff, young adults who are working, or young adults recently out of college who are itching for some rest during a busy time. We are also hoping to have a lot of our college freshmen who didn't get to have their last high school week at Riverside this past summer. We want the class of 2021 to have another camp experience at Riverside. Regardless of where you find yourself currently, we believe God has something for you!
What will the schedule be like?
Check in will be from 11:30-Noon on Saturday at the Dining Hall, we will begin with a meal together as we head into the day. Throughout the day we will worship together, hang out, play, eat dinner, worship some more, and have some free time before retreating to cabins for the evening. We will end the day Sunday with a continental breakfast and a worship service. We can't wait to host this event again.
Meet Our Speaker - Jamie Richards!
Jamie Richards is the Young Adult (REVIVE) Minister at Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines, Iowa. Jamie worked at Riverside in a variety of roles all 4 of her summer years during college and felt the call to go into ministry while working at Riverside! After graduating from Northwestern College, Jamie spent 6 years in Seattle doing youth ministry (so she’s a Seahawks gal) – and now loves being back in Central Iowa and working with 20-30s at REVIVE (Hope’s ministry with young adults).
Outside of work, you’ll find Jamie watching Marvel movies or shows, at one of her favorite coffee hangouts with friends, or listening to the newest Brene Brown podcast.
Her favorite part of ministry is seeing how God is moving in the next generation of leaders, awakening young adults, and calling them into leadership. She’s excited to spend this weekend with you!
How do I sign up?
If you still want to come, then be sure to call our office before 3:00 pm on Friday, Dec. 17 to sign up! 515-733-5271
