Need a place for an event or retreat?

We are so thankful for the opportunity to have outside groups come and experience God’s creation here at Riverside and is available for rental/retreat use year-round with limited space in the summer.

 

What does Riverside have to offer for your retreat needs?

  • Meals (for groups 25 or more and at an additional charge)

Recreation Activities Include:

  • Hiking/ Nature walks

  • Camp tours

  • Basketball

  • Canoe/Kayak (see below for details)

  • Horseback riding (upon staff availability and at an additional charge)

  • Challenge course (upon staff availability and at an additional charge)

  • Outdoor Pool (upon staff availability and at an additional charge...see below for details)​​

 

Pool Rental Prices

Pool is only available from Memorial Day weekend until the middle of August (subject to staff availability)

  • Base fee of $100 per hour for up to 50 people with no extra elements open (see below)

  • Add $25 per hour to base fee for each additional 25 people (max of 125 total people)

  • Add $17 per hour to base fee for each additional element open

    • Enclosed, twisty slide in the shallow end​

    • Drop slide in the deep end

    • Rock wall in the deep end

    • Diving board in the deep end

Canoe & Kayak

We have three different options for you to canoe and/or kayak! Contact Elly Mullen at Elly@RiversideLBC.org or at

  • Paddle on the Riverside Lagoon

    • Explore the Riverside Lagoon (and all of the turtles, frogs, and birds) at your leisure. ​

    • Rates

      • Free for anyone staying overnight at Riverside

      • $15 per canoe, $10 per kayak for a 2 hour excursion for those not staying at Riverside

  • Riverside to Story City Trip (1.5 to 3 hour trip)

    • Enjoy a scenic paddle that takes you down a winding stretch of the Skunk River. You will begin your trip on site at Riverside, and you will finish your trip in Story City. We will pick you up at the take out location and transport you back to Riverside. Float times are subject to river flow, wind, and paddling time. 

    • Rates (includes all equipment & transportation from the take out site back to Riverside)

      • $34 per canoe

      • $20 per kayak

  • Des Moines or Boone River Trip (2-4 hours on the river, 3-5.5 hours total trip)

    • Enjoy a scenic paddle that takes you down an incredible stretch of the Des Moines or Boone River that is sure to take your breath away! Either river is wide and good for new paddlers. Float times are subject to river flow, wind, and paddling time. Most groups spend 2-4 hours on the river and another hour being transporting to and from Riverside to the put in and take out locations. 

    • Rates (includes all equipment & transportation from Riverside to the river and back)

      • ($200 minimum in for the party)

      • $50 per canoe (2 people per canoe, add $8 per person for a 3rd/4th person in the canoe)​

      • $30 per kayak
