2021 Women's Retreat

Release and LIVE!

“Trust in Him at all times, you people, pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge.”  Psalm 62:8

The more we release to God, (ie. children, work life, home life, husbands, pretty much everything;) the more God sets us free to truly live and even thrive! We will explore various ways we struggle (at least I know I have) to let go and find God has way more peace and joy in mind for us than we ever imagined!

See with your own eyes some of the fun we can have together by checking out these photos from our 2020 Women's Retreat!

You don't want to miss out on the fun and fellowship we have in store this year! We can't wait to see you in September.

Back by popular demand - the Friday evening option! If you can, come early and spend the evening in a way that best suits your needs. The Friday evening option includes heavy hors d'oeuvres, fellowship, and lodging; but, if your soul desires extra rest and not-so-much socialization, grab some food and escape to your cabin early!

Guest Speaker,

Kris Boettger

Kris Boettger lives in Cedar Falls, Iowa with her husband Tim of 30 years. Kris runs Barn Happy, an Iowa Store and lunch/coffee shop on their acreage. Tim is the Director of Spiritual Care at Western Home Communities.

Kris and Tim have two grown children and two amazing grandchildren. Ike (26) plays football for the Buffalo Bills and is married to Katie, who is blessed to stay home and raise their two children, Clayton 16 mo. and Kiley 6 weeks. Their daughter, Adrienne (24), teaches Math and is a development director, and basketball coach at Waterloo Christian School.

Kris has a heart for the Lord and people and longs to see folks live life to the full!

Looking forward to the time together!

WHAT TO EXPECT

As mentioned earlier, we will have an optional Friday evening add-on for this year's retreat. We will prepare delicious heavy hors d'oeuvres and a guided activity for the later evening. The activity is completely optional - we anticipate some participants may equally appreciate the opportunity to pick up their food and retreat for some alone-time elsewhere on camp, or may just desire to get some extra rest. There is no wrong way to spend your time. After all, this is your time and we want to you enjoy yourself fully and be restored. Adding the Friday evening option is $20 for those staying at camp as well as for commuters.

We will gather beginning at 8:30am on Saturday for our first session. Breakfast refreshments will be available and you can plan on plenty of hot coffee and tea all weekend long!

Registration will include a seat at all speaker sessions, small group studies, worship, three meals on Saturday, two meals on Sunday, snacks, an array of free-time options, a bountiful pouring on of encouragement and inspiration, as well as so much more. Be sure to mark this on registration so we can include you as we prepare and schedule those optional activities. Your registration and cost options are:

  • Arrive Saturday morning, staying at Riverside = $95

  • Arrive Saturday morning, staying off-site = $85

  • SATURDAY ONLY registration, no lodging = $75

  • Friday Add-On (whether or not staying onsite) = $20

LODGING

As usual, you will have the ability to stay right here in one of our cozy cabins on camp. We anticipate that groups of ladies will register together and we encourage that - this will allow us to place you and your close peers in a cabin together. For those ladies who come independently and will be possibly lodging with women they don't know, we will keep our cabin numbers lower than usual and use more cabins to allow for that.

If you personally do not feel comfortable being in a cabin with ladies you do not know or if you'd prefer a hotel, you can check out lodging options right in nearby Story City or Ames.

ADDITIONAL COSTS (optional)

Horseback Trail Ride = $15

Craft Activity (mosaic coasters) = $8

COVID CONSIDERATIONS

At this time we continue to take extra cleaning precautions consistent with our practices this past summer. As far as masks are concerned, you may choose to wear one if you wish but at this time we are not requiring this of our guests. If you desire a specific lodging accommodation, it is best to try to coordinate to attend together with friends and request each other as cabinmates during registration. There will be several seating options for our sessions during the retreat. If you want to sit with others, you may but if you prefer more physical distance, that will also be available.

Please email or call Cheri, our Associate Director, if you have any questions!
