Arrival and Departure Info

ARRIVAL Information

1. A very important part of our camp check-in process is helping to ensure that as many things as possible are taken care of ahead of time.

Before check-in day, please ensure that your camper's balance due is paid (online or call our office). Camp store deposits should be made ahead of time by logging into your camper's profile or we can assist you over the phone. We will not be receiving camp store payments/deposits on the day of check-in. Extras such as horseback riding and slingshot paintball can be added online or by calling our office before noon on the Monday following check-in.

  • Horseback riding - not available for adventure and alpha campers, not necessary for ranch campers.

  • Slingshot paintball - not available to alpha campers, junior campers, or adventure campers.

  • Camp Store - we suggest between $10-$50. Your camper will have time they can spend in the Riverside camp store where we sell apparel, candy, soda, snack items, ice cream, hats, toiletry items, and other cool Riverside merchandise. This money can also be spent at Art Fun to cover the cost of materials for any craft item your camper may be interested in creating during free time.

2. Camper Check-In (3:30 - 4:45pm)

Camper check-in begins no sooner than 3:30pm. You will receive a welcome packet via email with specific instructions as your week at camp gets closer. You will be assigned an arrival window that will be pre-determined, and will likely be alphabetical according to your last name. We strongly encourage you to not arrive early so as to allow for a smooth check-in process for all of our campers. Additionally, our summer team is excitedly preparing and praying for our campers right up until check-in time.  It will actually help us AND save you time to have you arrive no sooner than your assigned time.

  • Alpha Campers, both Sunday & Wednesday Check-In - please watch your inbox for welcome packet and instructions.

3. Welcome To Camp!

As you pull in the Riverside drive head to the RIGHT, you will be greeted by a member of our summer staff.  We will verify a bit of information about the camper, ask you a couple of simple health questions, and will direct you to the cabin.

  • Drop-off at the cabin - Parents are welcome to accompany their child to their cabin.

4. Medication

All medications, prescription and over-the-counter, need to be turned into our medical volunteer at the Dining Hall AFTER you drop your camper off at the cabin. Consent for prescription and over-the-counter medication administration should have been completed during your on-line registration process, or at any time between then and check-in day.  If there have been changes (or new meds prescribed) since the time of registration, you are encouraged to make those changes online ahead of check-in day. If you haven't had a chance to complete those updates before check-in day, the medical volunteer will have you log in to your camper profile at the time of medication drop-off to add or change the medications the camper will receive while at camp. *Very importantMedications must be turned in to our medical volunteer in the original containers - please do not bring pills in baggies, in pill-minders, etc.

On Sunday

  1. At check-in, the cabin leader will ask each person dropping off a camper who will be picking them up on Friday.

  2. The person's full name and relation to the camper will be documented on a spreadsheet. This is the person who MUST pick up the camper on Friday. If they are unable to pick up the camper, then you must let us know at the office (515-733-5271) before Friday at 12:00 pm.

On Friday

  1. Those picking up a camper must be the same person designated on the sheet from Sunday. If there needs to be a change for some reason, you MUST contact us ahead of time to notify us. There needs to be confirmation with the cabin leader, camper, and person picking up their camper, before they are allowed to leave.
