We love how the beauty of God's creation is on full display out here at camp in the fall. The leaves are brilliant colors and the sunsets are beautiful. In the midst of it all, it's this picture that captions in many ways what camp is all about. God's kids spread out all over the main camp area spending dedicated time with the God who created it all-including them, and loves them with an everlasting, steadfast love. Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good and His steadfast love endures forever!
Engage with the ministry: recruiting summer staff.
Did you know our staff begin
recruiting for summer staff in August? We're already praying for who the Lord will lead here for an incredible summer of missions right here at Riverside, and we invite you to join us in this mission! We continue to see the Lord leading a growing number of campers to Riverside, and we're expectant that God will lead the exact number of staff that we need for Summer 2023 that we need to provide excellent, relational, Christ-centered camp
experiences for our campers. Here's how you can join us in this important mission:
Pray daily for the Lord to lead who He desires to be here and pray for Him to give you specific names of people that you could reach out to apply.
Consider those in your church, community, sports teams, etc. that are involved in the life of a congregation, love kids, and could be blessed and be a blessing by serving. Take them out to coffee/ice cream/lunch and speak out what you see in them and how they could be a good fit.
Share these opportunities in your church, in your work place, and in your small groups. You don't have to be a past Riverside camper or even have a history with Riverside to apply!
Looking towards the future. We are so thankful for the ways in which the Lord has led and
guided us for the last 79 years, and in the last 3 years. We've seen summer camp come back strong these past two summers, a large increase in hosting ministry group retreats and silent retreats, and God continuing to provide financially through the support of many individuals and congregations. As our staff and board look towards the future, we continue to stay laser focused on our mission and values, and seeking the Lord's wisdom and desire for His camp. Look for more information in the coming months on the big God sized dreams we believe He has for Riverside in the future!
Giving Tuesday, Tuesday November 29. Join us at Riverside for this year's Giving Tuesday event! The evening will include a delicious chili meal, Riverside cookies, hayrides with hot chocolate, live music by up and coming artist, Mylie Miller, games in the Rec Hall, camp store open for shopping, and a mission opportunity. We're working on securing a matching challenge for this day only, with all gifts going toward the continued mission of Riverside. More information to come--we'd love to see you and if you can't make it, give a gift online or in the mail to the ministry!
